my patriotic metamorphose

Before i begun i have to say – i am not a very patriotic person. Maybe it is a fault of that globalization process, but i consider myself as a citizen of teh world.
despite that i am proud of my country and my origins when things like this happens – my story:

2009 Lithuania were celebrating a 1000 years ot it's name, since it was first time mentioned. so 2008-10-05 yacht "ambersail" sailed from port of Klaipeda and begun a journey around the world. purpose of that was to ask Lithuanians around the world to celebrate the event. The sailors left a flag and a letter from president to every lithuanian community all around the globe. And 2009-07-05 "ambersail" came home. To great the yacht was going lots of people and we vere there as well.

It was a sunny day so i took a bus to town. Then i was heading to meet a few more people. And after really long time i was exiting not because occasion i mentioned above, but cause i‘ll have a chance to be in a boat (it doesn‘t have to me very often). So, we took a ferry and went to the sea gate of the port to see those sailors. It was a warm day and we thought it will last so.... but as we spent a half of hour watching other boats the wind just got stronger and colder. Despite that i was prepared to stand that and watch „ambersail coming. But after more then hour spent in a freezing wind my fellows were getting old so they went to look a warmer spot.... i checked for a guy with binoculars where is the yacht at the moment and he told it will get to the port at least in an hour, so i joined my folks.
As i found another good spot to watch it coming i had to disappoint, cause boat was sailing far from my side of a bank of the bay... i gad to use a maximum zoom of my camcorder and it was kind of hard, cause blistering wind made my hands shake and that and maximum zoom is not a good combination.
It took me a while to edit the video, but i made it. And it took me longer to find a place to host it, cause photobucket didn‘t support this and youtube make it mute...
But now when i have found the hosting service i had to dramaticly decrease it‘s quality...

Anyway, i present you my video impression from greeting the yacht that sale around the world with lozung – „one name – lithuania“ and was promoting the millennium event of the little country.

  1. I think it's good to be proud of your homeland. I know I am.

I like the video! It's like a travelog of a place I've never been to. Though I read it from your words, you can't tell from the video that it was "blistering winds". It looks like a nice sunny day.

What are the three songs you are using. My only negative is that the editing of the three songs is somewhat choppy, and could be smoother.

    The sail boats look cool.

    Nicely done!

  2. glad you like it.
    three songs are:
    1. linas adomaitis - tavo spalvos (colours of yours) - choose this song cause when we were sailing through that artist were rehearsing this song and it stuck on my head and it is some sort of colourful as well. :)
    2. uncle cracker - in a little while - choose this one cause it is calm and bright matches with boats calmly going through.
    3. rod stewart - sailing - obviously i choose this one because of words in it... :)
do you mean the songs should be more fade in and fade out thing?
